"service air bag" light comes on at random, and without reason. No trouble codes come up, therefore no way to tell if something is really wrong.Owner report · Air Bags · Jan 2016
My 2005 yukon xl will, at random, shift itself into 4 wheel lo. It happens while driving and at speeds of 30+ mph. All of the lights on the push-button 4wd control module will light up or flash. No amount of button-pushing will disengage 4 wheel drive. I the car will slam to a 5 mph crawl when it does this. Also the traction control system deactivates at the same time. Has happened over 40 times now.Owner report · Steering · Mar 2015

The vehicle's hydraulic brake lines have rapidly corroded, to the point that they may give out any day. The vehicle has been well-maintained (all service performed by a gm dealer) and has received regular undercarriage washing. In addition, the electronic brake control module (ebcm) has just failed; if a brake fluid leak occurs, there will be no warning or indication presented by the vehicle and the vehicle may not be able to stop. Gm has stated that any repairs for these serious safety hazard conditions would need to be paid out of pocket, with an approximate cost of $2500. A vehicle that is less than 10 years old should not such exhibit corrosion to the point of a safety hazard. *jsOwner report · Service Brakes · Nov 2014

The control panel on my gmc is freezing, the speedometer is freezing so I cannot tell how fast the car is going. The oil gauge has frozen and the dashboard keeps changing it light intensity from very bright to going dark when I'm driving sometimes occurring on poorly lite streets and parkways. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Nov 2010
While returning home from a camping trip, sudden loss of 3rd and 4th gears in transmission. We were traveling on the freeway, towing a trailer when this occurred. (the vehicle is equipped with factory tow package.) in researching this problem, I was surprised that gm has opened a couple of tsb's relating to it. *trOwner report · Power Train · Jul 2010
Sppedometer stopped working while driving. Driving about 70 when the speedometer suddently went up to 120. When I came to a stop and turned off enging the speedometer still reads anywhere from 50 to 60 mph (while in park). *trOwner report · Electrical System · Dec 2009
2005 gmc yukon xl speedometer reading erratic, now doesn't work at all - needle hangs down past 120 mph. Appears that the stepper motor that drives the speedometer gauge has failed. I believe this has been recalled for model years before 2005, but not for this model year. Dealer says that the entire instrument cluster needs to be replaced. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Jun 2009
