“On 11/5/17 my 2004 gmc yukon xl was involved in a severe collision where my truck hit another vehicle both vehicles were doing 55+ mph. My front end took all my damage. Not one airbag went off in my truck.”Owner report · Air Bags · Nov 2017
“After getting cut off and having to make a panic stop the brake lines in my truck burst causing the pedal to go to the ground and offer no braking power. I then tried the emergency brake which also didn't work due to the burst lines. I was finally able to steer into the shoulder of the road and put the transmission into a lower gear to slow down before putting it into park at 25 mph and skidding to a stop. After getting home and doing research and learned of your investigation. Something needs to be done as I almost died. *tr”Owner report · Service Brakes · Sep 2014
“Rigid brake line corroded and failed leading to greatly diminished braking capacity. This poses a safety hazard. I was told by the gm dealer I brought the truck to that all of the brake lines are severely corroded and need to be replaced. *tr”Owner report · Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Aug 2011

“My father in law was involved in an accident while driving my husband and my car. The car was totaled in the accident and he fractured his neck and broke some ribs. None of the airbags deployed. *tr”Owner report · Air Bags · Jan 2010
“Unwanted antilock brake system (ABS) activation which results in increased stopping distance during low speed brake application. The first experience almost resulted in rear-end crash into a vehicle ahead. I took the truck to a gm dealership (malouf gm) on 11/06/09 and was told that there is no open recall (they reportedly fixed the problem on 11/01/2001). For them to check if my complaint is relative to the earlier recall, there would be a cost to me out of pocket. This problem persists and occurs intermittently. *tr”Owner report · Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Oct 2009
“ABS brakes activating on dry roads at slow speeds just before stopping. This originally started several years ago but was fixed under NHTSA recall 05v379000 dated 8/3/05. The problem is back in our car just a couple years later. Same problem and now the gm dealer says it won't be covered by the recall. We've had a couple close calls entering our garage as we're just about to stop and the ABS goes off extending our stopping distance. *tr”Owner report · Service Brakes, Electric · Jul 2009
“Making 3-point turn on dirt road, power steering failed. Upon inspection at repair shop, found that shaft on power steering pump had fractured. Required replacement of power steering pump. This corresponds to NHTSA campaign id number 05v005000 and NHTSA action number ea04012, although gmc has told me that my VIN is not included. It should be. *tr”Owner report · Steering · Nov 2008
