The third brake light connections located in the rear tailgate are severely corroded and will not light up when braking. This condition does not allow passing of state inspection. The entire brake light assembly and wire harness must to replaced to pass state vehicle inspection. This condition is continuous, when parked, when driving (we followed it around the block to see if it jiggled on), I have nothing to upload because the brake light will not light up.Owner report · Electrical System · Apr 2017

I was doing a rear brake job and smelled gasoline, so I went under the vehicle and observed there was a wet spot on the rear of the fuel tank. Upon closer examination I found the inlet part of the fuel tank was broken and allowing fuel to exit the tank, can we say fire risk, so I went online to try to purchase a replacement tank and I found where several people had had this sameproblem, but no recall is in place ?????Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Feb 2017

Vehicle has had strong odor or raw fuel coming from driving side wheel well. Had mechanic check this out and I was told this has a fuel leak near the fuel filter / filler neck and possible gas tank issue which is close to the exhaust pipe. This is a known issue from gm owners but recall has not been advised. Informed gm of issue on 10/26 but they will not fix. This will cost upwards of $1100-$1600 to fix. *trOwner report · Fuel System, Gasoline · Sep 2016
Started smelling gas, started dripping fuel. After investigating the fuel lines coming out of the fuel pump were severely corroded at the top of the gas tank. Dripping gas could have caught fire. Learned there was a tsb on this and extended warrenty due to corrosion of fuel lines. The warrenty was for 10 years or 150k. The vehicle is now 11 years old. I have lived in the same house for eight years and never received a recall or tsb notice from gmc. Over 800$ for a new fuel pump and to drop gas tank for repairs. While the vehicle is a 2004 it only has 67k on it.Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Jul 2015

Bought new. Nothing but problems with electrical system. Most started out of warranty. Entire instrument panel stopped working, had to replace. Radio system comes and goes, most of the time not working. A/c heating blower stopped working. Different component like window, wipers, door lock just operate on they own then lock up. Issues with ignition. Can't remove the key. Now rear window goes down on its own. Vehicle won't start, rear tail gate won't operate. Only way to start is by jumping but once turned off the battery drains so can't go anywhere because you're u never know if it going to start again. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Jan 2015
