“A software defect exists which causes the vehicle to reset the electronically controlled side view mirrors such that they point downward, obscuring the driver's view along the sides of the vehicle. I have notified the Genesis dealer and Genesis USA before and neither has been able to reproduce or rectify the problem. I suspect this is a defect when the vehicle is started on an unlevel surface, as the mirrors will attempt to adjust automatically. The defect appears to be most prominent when switching user profiles and shifting into a gear before the driver profile has finished loading. “The contact owns a 2023 Genesis GV80. The contact stated that while pulling into traffic, the vehicle stalled. The accelerator was depressed, but the vehicle failed to move. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was due to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V282000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact contacted AAA, who rest drove the vehicle but eventually towed the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. “The contact owns a 2023 Genesis GV80. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed with a child seated in the rear passenger’s seat, the seat belt webbing loosened from the frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the seat belt might have been cut and caused the failure. The contact disputed the claim and notified the manufacturer of the failure; however, the manufacturer sided with the dealer. The contact was not offered any additional assistance. “I feel there is a flaw in mechanical and electrical. There is no emergency release from the outside of vehicle to get to the battery. The battery went dead I had to crawl from the front seat.(locks were dead as battery was dead) all the way to the rear hatch to release the lever to open the hatch to get to the battery. “When I was driving my 2023 GV 80, I was applying pressure onto the gas pedal and the car suddenly started jerking. The car was not accelerating then the check engine sign came on and then the car completely turned off. Then I restarted the car and it was moving really slow. Similar incident happened few other times and luckily I was able to pull over to the parking lot after turning on the hazard light. I drove my car over to the dealership and dropped it off. “I was driving and the car just stopped in the middle of the road. I had to turn the car off and restart. Once I did the car wouldn’t get any speed but the RPM would go up to 4 or 5. I finally got the car home and had it towed the next morning. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain Genesis 2023-2024 G80, GV80, 2025 GV70 and 2023-2025 GV70 "Electrified" vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and update the instrument panel display software, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 26, 2025. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Hyundai's number for this recall is 026G.
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Genesis GV80, 2021-2023 Genesis G80, 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, and 2023 Genesis GV60 vehicles. In the event of a crash, the front driver-side and/or passenger-side seat belt pretensioners may explode upon deployment.
Remedy: Dealers will secure the seat belt pretensioners with a cap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 14, 2023. For GV60 owners, Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 14, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 012G. This recall supersedes and expands recall number 21V-796. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 21V-796 will need to have the new remedy completed.
Hyundai Motor America (Genesis) is recalling certain Genesis 2022-2026 GV70, 2023-2025 G90, 2021-2025 G80, and GV80 vehicles. Fuel may leak at the pipe connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten, or replace the fuel pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 20, 2026. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Genesis' number for this recall is 033G. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning April 11, 2026.
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, GV80, G80, and G90 vehicles. The fuel pump may fail, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 022G. This recall is an expansion of recall number 23V-630.
