Common problems
Computed from 58 owner complaints filed with NHTSA for this exact model year.
“A/C compressor not coming on when cabin A/C does. This means it is also not coming on to cool the battery, which could prevent proper battery thermal management, raising safety and performance risks in hot climates. A/C compressor and inverter have been replaced without resolving the issue. It has been to two dealerships that independently diagnosed the problem as the A/C compressor. The car is currently at Allen Turner Genesis in Pensacola, FL so it should be available for inspection. There were no warning lamps illuminated.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · May 2026
“Car stopped taking a charge. ICCU and fuse seem to have died. This widespread problem needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. It's dangerous and careless to not have fixed the issue years later.”Owner report · Electrical System · Feb 2026
“Water pump failure in vehicle less than two years of age. Dealer stated car was not safe to drive. Instrument cluster had a warning light, the app had details of the failures, and the display in the vehicle had a pop up stating the car needed to be serviced TODAY!”Owner report · Power Train,Electrical System,Fuel/Propulsion System · Dec 2025

“While driving car, I heard a "pop" sound coming from the back seat, my ICCU had failed and then there was a sudden loss vehicle power and the car went into a limp mode. The car only had 5,650 miles on it. This is a serious safety hazard. The car was towed to the dealership and a new ICCU was installed. The replacement part was the same model number that had failed. I was advised by the service adviser that I could possibly experience another ICCU failure in the future.”Owner report · Power Train · Nov 2025
“Complete ICCU failure resulting in loss of power on the freeway during rush hour, extremely dangerous for me and everyone around me. Car was towed twice over three years for the same issue, despite having all recalls done. Eventually lemon law eligible, did a buyback.”Owner report · Electrical System,Engine,Fuel/Propulsion System · Oct 2025
“The chrome trim strip above the windshield flew off while driving. This poses a safety hazard for anyone driving behind a GV60 and unfortunately this issue seems to be very widespread (examples: [XXX] ). Genesis refused to fix the issue for me despite being under warranty, so I suspect they are doing the same for other owners despite the safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)”Owner report · Structure · Jul 2025
“Upon startup, the dashboard cluster that displays safety information and the speedometer did not power on until several minutes had passed. This happens randomly. This console includes the safety warning information and the speedometer and is not the infotainment screen (which worked as it should). This has not been reported to the dealership yet, though the issue is known and discussed on several owner forums.”Owner report · Unknown Or Other · Feb 2025
“Completed NHTSA recall 24V-868 at my dealer December 13th 2024. ICCU failed on 1/1/2025 and I am awaiting on the 3rd ICCU for my vehicle in less than 2 years. Similar issue happened December 2023, completed the ICCU recall and had the ICCU fail in a similar fashion.”Owner report · Power Train,Electrical System,Vehicle Speed Control · Jan 2025
“Since the weather got colder, the driver's instrument cluster does not display immediately when the vehicle is powered on. When cold, the cluster takes from a few seconds to several minutes to come on. While it is off, there is no access to any warning lights or messages.”Owner report · Electrical System · Dec 2024
“When starting the car on cold mornings--parked outside, under a carport--the instrument cluster is blank. It stays blank for two to seven or so minutes, whether or not the car is being driven. This only happens on the cold days, and didn't happen last winter. When the display comes on, it doesn't register the miles that were driven while it was blank. Using the pre-warm climate function before staring the vehicle--so, warming up the car--will cause the instrument cluster to work even on cold days, but that shouldn't need a workaround.”Owner report · Electrical System,Unknown Or Other · Nov 2024
