Due to the failure, the contact temporarily loss control of the vehicle before the vehicle independently returned to normal operation. The contact had taken the vehicle to ford of branford (301 e. Main st, branford, ct 06405) on three separate occasions however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. “Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford f-350 sd equipped with bf goodrich all terrain t/a tires, size: lt275/70r18 lre (na). While driving 70 mph, the rear driver's side tire exploded without warning. The failure damaged the rear driver's side rim, suspension, and fender. The contact managed to place a spare tire on the vehicle and drive home. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. “Federal couragia m/t lt265/70r17e tires purchased jan2013. Two tires had belt separate in may2014. The first two tires were replaced by my local tire shop. Another tire suffered complete tread separation on june2014. The local tire shop assured me that they will also replace the tire that came apart and asked me to provide body estimates to repair the damage caused by the tire so they can submit them to tire distributor. The tires have approx. 15,000 miles on them. These tires are installed on a 2007 ford f-350 4x4 with a 5.4l gas engine. “My vehicle has what has been referred to as "death wobble" or oscilation of the steering wheel. At 30-50 miles an hour after hitting a a bump in the road the vehicle will shake violently, nearly throwing my vehicle from the roadway. Ford has suggested tire pressure as the cause. I have checked the tire pressure numerous times and the recommended tire pressure does not help. There 1000's of ford super duty trucks on the road with this same issue. The failure occurred when driving 55 mph or greater over an uneven road surface or bump. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The front shocks, rotors, and brakes were replaced. In addition, the front wheel bearings were replaced with four new tires installed on the vehicle. The failure persisted after the repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 RANGER TRUCKS BUILT FROM JANUARY 25, 2011, THROUGH APRIL 25, 2011 AT THE TWIN CITIES ASSEMBLY PLANT, AND SERVICE PARTS DISTRIBUTED TO DEALERS FOR CERTAIN 2004 THROUGH 2011 MODEL YEAR RANGER TRUCKS, 2002 THROUGH 2005 MODEL YEAR EXCURSION VEHICLES, AND 2002 THROUGH 2007 MODEL YEAR F-250, F-350, F-450, AND F-550 TRUCKS FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS SHIPPED WITH A SUBCOMPONENT (SLIDER) THAT MAY EXPERIENCE DEFORMATION. A MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WITH A DEFORMED SLIDER MAY MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE TURN SIGNAL, TAIL LIGHTS, HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL FLASHERS AND/OR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO ACTIVATE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SWITCHES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 15, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AT 1-866-436-7332.
Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.
Remedy: Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.
