1 operating hour after coming down a 7% grade my 1999 f350 truck with camper suffered complete brake failure due to a corroded brake line. The fault occurred in a clip where moisture and abrasives had been held against the steel brake line. Nearby diesel fuel lines exhibited no rust. Because ford used steel that can rust for the critical brake line, my family almost lost our lives and potentially caused the deaths of others. The replacement left par of the original brake line in place. *trOwner report · Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Jun 2011

I noticed a strong diesel smell while driving my 1999 ford f350 pickup two weeks ago. Upon investigation I found diesel had sprayed on the top of the hot engine. I took the truck to a local shop; the mechanic told me, "yeah, we see this all the time, usually on trucks of this age. It's the fuel drain valve behind the filter casing." I do not like the idea of any fuel spraying onto the top of a hot engine! *trOwner report · Fuel System, Diesel · Dec 2010
I have a 1999 f350 super duty diesel with a 7.3 engine and my inside light do not work right some times it will just come on as you are driving down the street and some times it wont come on when you open the door .the inside light is getting worse my truck would just stop running as you are driving down the street or at a stop light. I went into the fuse box under the steering wheel and I thought it could be a fuse come to fine out that my relay fuse to the inside light was so hot that it could have started a fire so I pulled it out now I drive around with no inside lighting. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Oct 2010
