“I am reporting a safety-related transmission problem I experienced with my 2023 Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 automatic transmission. While driving normally, the transmission suddenly fails to engage then randomly shifts violently. This occurs when merging onto a highway, crossing an intersection, traveling at highway speed, stop-and-go traffic, creating a potentially dangerous drive. This is common issue with this type of transmission, mostly related to the drum itself; slipping thus causing its erratic behavior.”Owner report · Power Train · Jul 2026
“Vehicle came in for service and the gear selector lever on the steering column was found to be loose. Upon further inspection it was found that the two phillips head screws that hold the gear selector lever to the column assembly had come loose and one had fallen out completely.”Owner report · Power Train · Jul 2026

My last service was done only 2 months ago. anyhow i decided to drive the nearest Ford Dealer. On exiting the Freeway, the ramp was downhill and the Braking System completely failed and I crashed into the pavement. All the AirBags came on. “I have a 2023 f150 powerboost. I slowed down to a yielding sign to turn right onto the state highway. The engine was in electric mode, I went to push the acceleration pedal and nothing happened. The truck would not accelerate for 4-5 seconds. I then put the accelerator pedal to the floor and it finally engaged and the truck flew. I’ve had it happen once before but for only a second so I thought nothing of it. It was a scary experience as I could have been hit if another drive wasn’t paying attention. I’m scared to drive it now, and have made an appointment with the local ford dealership to diagnose. No engines lights are on. Only happens when stopping briefly.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · May 2026
“I was driving at 45 miles an hour. With no warning, the car had 28 warnings pop up and it just died with no warning. No power steering, no brake assist at all, no lights (not even emergency light would turn on). I was not able to put it into neutral so I was just stuck. Ford roadside was not able to get moving so I was just stuck. I called a tow and it was dragged up. The dealer determined it was a faulty 12v battery.”Owner report · Steering,Electrical System,Service Brakes · Jan 2026
