2007 Dodge Sprinter: problems, recalls and reliability

“Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge sprinter cargo van. The contact stated that the fuel tank fastening straps became loose, which caused the plastic valve in the fuel tank to detach. As a result, there was a fuel leak. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was informed of NHTSA campaign number: 07v325000 (fuel system) for certain 2007 dodge sprinters. The dealer (peterson dodge chrysler jeep ram, 5801 e gate blvd, nampa, id 83687) stated that the vehicle was not on the recall list. The vehicle was not repaired. “Takata recall; manufacturer is unable to remedy safety recall. No incidents have occurred. Local dodge dealership is unable to replace takata airbags because they do not "have the tools for a sprinter van". They are not helpful in arriving at a solution. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v354000 (air bags) and 16v077000 (air bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was taken to larson chrysler jeep ram dodge (located at larson chrysler jeep dodge ram 2001 n meridian, puyallup, wa 98371, 253-845-1725) where it was confirmed that the remedy part was not yet available. “I have received three letters referring to recall: s14, r26 and r 49 dating back over one year. I have made several attempts to contact 2 different dodge/ chrysler dealerships and was always told they do not have the parts. The vehicle is made by mercedes benz and the parts can be cross referenced to a mercedes benz part number. “Takata recall: I have been in contact with the dodge recall people for the last year and have not been able to get any action on their part. They have put me in contact with all the dodge dealers in south florida and none of them will work on my sprinter.
