2000 Dodge Ram Van: problems, recalls and reliability

“Tl* the contact owns a 2000 dodge ram van. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed but only the front brakes functioned. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The brake warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who diagnosed that the computer needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000. Has happened to two yr 2000 dodge ram vans in our fleet, one a 1500 model, one a 2500 model. Daimlerchrysler issued safety recall d20 in 2004 to address this problem but the recall repair has not corrected the problem. Verizon has had 29 under hood fire incidents that occurred after the recall was performed. “2000 dodge full size van I believe that the small and crowded floor caused me to have an accident. I was in a drive-through line. When I went to move ahead my foot covered both the brake and accelerator. The harder I pressed on the brake the faster the vehicle went.
