“Tl* the contact owns a 1995 chrysler lhs. The contact stated that there was an overpowering odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle that was noticeable in the interior cabin. After examining the vehicle, the contact discovered that the fuel rail was fractured. The vehicle was repaired by the contact and was not diagnosed by the dealer. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign id number: 98v184000 (fuel system, gasoline:fuel injection system). “1995 chrysler lhs fuel rail leak, gasoline pouring onto engine manifold (2nd owner of car) was repaired 8yrs ago for same issue at my own cost unaware of recall of fuel rail problem when purchased vehicle . “Constant fuel vapor fumes of raw gas coming into the vehicle, recall campaign 98v184000 was done to the vehicle as the reinforcements are present, fumes occur daily with presence of fuel coming out of reinforcement area outlet fuel rail was not replaced. “Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chrysler lhs. The contact heard a loud crushing noise when the brake pedal was depressed. He also noticed that the brake pedal was resistant upon application. Upon further inspection, he noticed that the brake pads, rotors, and related components were in normal condition. On one occasion when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle would not stop and crashed into another vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel prior to the failure. The vehicle was completely destroyed and three occupants were moderately injured. A police report was filed. “Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chrysler lhs. While driving 25 mph, strong gasoline fumes began to enter the passenger compartment. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer per NHTSA campaign id number 98v184000 (fuel system, gasoline:fuel injection system). The dealer stated that the failure occurred with the driver side fuel rail, therefore rendering the recall as null and void even though the parts and failure were identical. No repairs were made. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FLOOR SHIFTER IGNITION-PARK INTERLOCK MAY FAIL AND ALLOW THE SHIFTER TO BE MOVED OUT OF THE PARK POSITION WITH THE KEY REMOVED. AN INOPERATIVE INTERLOCK MAY ALSO ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED WHEN THE SHIFTER HAS NOT BEEN PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW LOAD-LIMITING PUSH ROD INTO THE FLOOR SHIFTER LEVER OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JUNE 14, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ATTACHING BRACKETS CAN CRACK DUE TO FATIGUE AND SEPARATE FROM THE ENGINE CRADLE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REINFORCE THE ENGINE CRADLE AT THE POINT WHERE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM ATTACHES TO IT.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES BUILT WITH 3.5L ENGINES. THE FUEL INJECTION DELIVERY SYSTEM CAN LEAK FUEL FROM SOME OF THE SEALING O-RINGS OR FROM HAIR LINE CRACKS IN THE THERMOSET FUEL INJECTION RAIL.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL O-RINGS AND REINFORCE THE OUTLET (PASSENGER) SIDE FUEL RAIL. VEHICLES SHOWING FUEL LEAKAGE ON THE OUTLET FUEL RAIL MUST HAVE THE OUTLET RAIL REPLACED WHICH INCLUDES CHANGING THE UPPER AND LOWER INJECTOR O-RINGS. HOWEVER, IF A VEHICLE IS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE O-RINGS OR FROM A CRACKED FUEL LINE, THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO A DEALER TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
