“Driver's side door made a lot of noise when opening and closing. Dealers mechanic determined that bottom hinge broke off the door, and it needed to be replaced.*ak consumer thought there was a design flaw with the door and should be recalled. With a repair bill of over $2000.00 dollars, the consumer felt chrysler should've accepted responsibility for the door. The consumer has owned a '49 ford convertible, '65 mustang convertible, '86 pontiac convertible and '89 chrysler convertible before this convertible in question. In addition, she noted that having to replaced an entire door was something she didn't think would happen in her wildest dreams. *ph *nlm”Owner report · Structure · Oct 2003

“Driver's side door hinge has failed. Door does not close properly. Since door has "falled" and is not aligned, the opening action has crumpled the front quarterpanel, paint is now flawed. Now a repaint and body work is needed. Have noticed other lebarons with this same tell-tale damage; this is evidently a design defect. I understand that jeep products suffer from this flaw also.”Owner report · Structure · Jan 2003
“Driver door hinge attachment plate on drivers side bottom sunk into door and in turn the door bent over so when opening the door, it pushes the rear of the front fender in and damaged the driver door side. It is now happening on the passenger side and soon will be unable to open either door to get in. Cannot open drivers side as door slips down and very hard to pick up door as it is heavy. “I've owned this car for 5 months and it has been nother but problems for me. I understand that when buying a used vehicle there is always risk involved, but at 50,000 miles (which is what I bought it at) there should not be that many expensive problems in 5 months! Chrysler is refusing to accept any of the responsibility for this vehicle that they manufactured, and that is wrong. I hope by filing this complaint, something gets done! *ak”Owner report · Power Train · Jan 2002
