The ABS caught on fire. Lost brakes and all brake fluid, no police reports because it was in my alley way as soon as I started moving, when it happened the ABS and brake lights both came on at the same time. No prior warning.Owner report · Service Brakes · Jul 2023
ABS/Traction Control wheel speed sensors corroded, causing the ABS to activate at low speeds and making it impossible to stop the car. This is the same issue as has been reported for other VIN numbers of the same vehicle; see Safety Recall 05068 Front Wheel Speed Sensor Corrosion, https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2005/RCRIT-05V379-8709.pdf. However, that recall was limited to vehicles registered in the "Rust Belt" states; it appears that as this vintage of vehicle has aged, vehicles outside the Rust Belt now are experiencing the same problem, suggesting that the recall should be broadened.Owner report · Service Brakes · Feb 2022

While driving my vehicle , I applied the brakes to stop at a traffic light , and the brake pedal traveled all the way to the floor . The tahoe finally stopped after a much longer than normal distance . After inspecting the master cylinder , there was hardly any brake fluid remaining . I found that the brake lines were very rusted , and that the line going to the rear brakes was rusted through . This rusting of the brake lines should never occur !Owner report · Service Brakes · Feb 2016

Went to stop at stop sign at approximately 4mph and no brakes. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor without any resistance or hesitation. As a result of the brake malfunction I rear ended an elderly couple in a lexus. Resulting in damage to their rear bumper plastic cover and more damage was done to my front end of the defective 200 chevrolet tahoe z71 I was drivingOwner report · Service Brakes · Aug 2015
This happened twice in the last week. While accelerating the gas pedal has gotten stuck and the vehicle increases with speed. In a panic I shifted the transmission into neutral; the engine kept revving. As I continued to attempt to un-stick the gas pedal I noticed it was all the way down to the floor. After about 20 seconds it finally un-stuck when I stomped on it several times. This happened first on a public street and last while entering the highway. *trOwner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Jun 2015
