Tl*the contact owns 1992 chevrolet lumina. After adding fuel into the vehicle, the gage indicator displayed that the fuel tank was empty. The dealer diagnosed the failure; however, within three days another vehicle crashed into rear of the contact's vehicle and destroyed it. The insurance company stated that the prior failure was not diagnosed by a dealer. There were no known injuries or police reports filed. Report number 71723371589 was filed with the manufacturer. Subframe washers rust and fail which caused in this case the steering rack to disconnect . I have been auto tech for 25 years and have seen many makes have very concerning safety problems . The NHTSA has failed in my eyes . The state I live in uses salt so the problems show up faster here in rust and cold related problems . My personal vehicle has 4 items that I truly believe should be recalled but are not . 1 of them makes my driver airbag inop . This vehicle has the same issue as the below listed recall: NHTSA campaign id number : 97v058000 the rear cradle bolts pull through the retainers due to corrosion of the retainer. If both bolts pull through, the rear cradle would not longer be supported at these mounting locations and the steering intermediate shaft can separate from the steering gear. *jbOwner report · Structure · Sep 2005
Consumer heard a noise coming from the front end while driving. Vehicle was serviced by several mechanics before the cause of the noise was found. The rear cradle bolt had pulled through the retainers because of corrosion as stated in recall 97v058000, but this model year was not included in the recall.*akOwner report · Structure · Jun 2004

Front-engine cradle bolt retaining mount sepaated due to corrsion, stamped bolt flange rusted through, fell off and was found on drive way. I am taking it to have all four replaced before the engine/transmission/cradle falls out on the ground. This could have happened while the car was moving.*akOwner report · Structure · Jan 2004

CERTAIN DELPHI FUEL PRESSURE REGULATORS, P/NOS. FP10020-11B1, FP10026-11B1, AND FP10027-11B1, SOLD AFTER JANUARY 9, 2007, AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. THE UNIVERSAL PRESSURE REGULATORS (UPR) WERE PRODUCED WITHOUT AN O'RING AND RETAINER.

Remedy: DELPHI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE UPR FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 23, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT DELPHI AT 877-411-8770.

THE REVERSE SERVO APPLY PIN MAY BIND IN THE CASE WHICH COULD CAUSE REVERSE BAND DISTRESS (LOSS OR SLIPPING OF REVERSE), REVERSE BAND DRAG IN DRIVE RANGE (POOR PERFORMANCE -- POOR POWER), OR THE TRANSMISSION TO REMAIN IN REVERSE WHILE THE SHIFT INDICATOR SHOWS NEUTRAL GEAR POSITION.

Remedy: REPLACE THE TRANSAXLE WHERE REQUIRED.

SABERSPORT IS RECALLING 16,270 COMBINATION CORNER AND BUMPER LAMP ASSEMBLIES OF VARIOUS PART NUMBERS SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.

Remedy: SABERSPORT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER A FULL REFUND FOR THE NONCOMPLIANT COMBINATION LAMPS. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 11, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SABERSPORT AT 1-909-598-7589.
