“The vacuum pump of the vehicle has failed four different times now, needing replaced each time, causing the "service brake assist" light to come on and the brakes to be really incredibly hard to press. Each time, it has been at highway speeds, and has made it extremely unsafe due to making it so hard to stop the vehicle. The first time it happened was in July of 2024 at 72,000 miles, again in October of 2024 at 80,000 miles, again in May of 2026 at 112,000 miles, and most recently in September of 2026 at 118,000 miles.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Sep 2026
“Car sputtered and stalled when starting for work, but then started, I kept it running while I dropped my daughter off at school and went to work. Car sputtered and would not start, leaving me stuck at work. After attempting to start a few times, my check engine light came on. Then received an email saying my car had a critical safety issue from OnStar. Had to wait over an hour for a tow to the Chevy Dealer. Waited another 6 days for it to be looked at. “Was driving down road and car died no warning never happened before ,took it to dealership they put on diagnostic machine,the problem was fuel pump driver control module said they have replaced quite a few also said new part has been redesigned so it doesn't happen again.I kept the part. “The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and making a sharp right turn, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled in the middle of the road. The vehicle failed to restart, and a tow truck was called to the scene. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, and the vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump pressure control module and coolant hoses had failed and needed to be replaced. “While driving, vehicle lunged forward and engine shut off. Dashboard stated to put in neutral and restart. Pushed automatic start and it clicked for approximately 20 seconds before engine started. Put vehicle in drive and pressed on gas and engine shut off. Put vehicle in park and tried to start again with clicking lasting 20-30 seconds before stopping. Had to have vehicle towed to Chevy Dealership for diagnostic and repair. The fuel pump control module had to be replaced. This was a recall for 2021-2022 Equinox. “I was driving in town at normal speed getting on entrance ramp to XXX in [XXX]. As I made my turn the car engine stopped working. I pulled over to the side of the ramp. The car would not start. I called a tow truck and had it taken to my mechanic. He diagnosed it as a failed fuel pump module. He also said that this car had been recalled in 2023 and the fuel pump module replaced. “The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that after the dealer performed a transmission flush, the check engine warning light intermittently illuminated while driving. Additionally, the steering wheel jerked abnormally, and the radio went blank while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, and the engine filter was replaced and another unknown part was also replaced, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and 2022 GMC Terrain vehicles. The driver's seat may have a stripped or loose bolt at the seat frame height-adjust pivot.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the driver's seat and replace the seat cushion frame, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 4, 2022. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GMC's number for this recall is N222377890.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles. Incorrect software in the transmission control module (TCM) may result in harsh shifting, reduced power, unintended deceleration, rear wheel lockup, or cause the vehicle to move in an unintended direction.
Remedy: Dealers will update the transmission control module software calibration, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 9, 2024. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles. The four rear-seat lower child seat LATCH anchorage bars may have excessive powder coating, which could prevent a child seat from being installed with the anchorage bars. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."
Remedy: Owners are advised to install child seats using the vehicle's rear seat belts until the remedy is complete. Dealers will inspect the latch anchorage bars, and remove and replace the finish, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 2, 2023. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles equipped with certain Hankook tires. The tires may have been manufactured with an insufficient amount of curative agent, which could cause tread separation.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the tire DOT numbers, and replace any affected tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 31, 2021.
