“245/35 ZP 19 89Y With only 16,000 miles on this vehicle, the sidewall began to bulge, and then tore, with zero damage to the rim of the wheel, and all air was lost. Luckily it is a run flat tire so it didn't completely deflate, however, I had great concern that with the tear the tire might roll out of the rim on a turn possibly causing an accident or at least a damaged rim. The dealer said they hadn't seen a tear in the sidewall of this tire. A warning light on my dash showed I had lost all air pressure. “The retractable headrest on the folding hard top convertible broke so it does not retract appropriately to allow the folding motion to close the roof to occur. It requires sticking your hand inside the roof while trying to close it and pulling it out fast. Internet searches have revealed others had the same issue with a cable breaking. “The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the contact heard a tinkling sound coming from the tonneau parcel cover. The contact stated that the cable used to secure the parade cover had detached from the cover. The message that the top was not secured was displayed. Neither a dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the convertible top cable had snapped and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. “Took the car in for inspection after noticing a greasy substance on the bottom panels when changing the oil. I was informed by the dealer that a cracked transmission housing up top was spraying the oil out and it was dripping down, the car is 7 month old and the transmission case cracked because of porous metal castings I was told which is a known issue already by GM.”Owner report · Power Train · Sep 2022
“This 2022 Corvette is dangerous and could kill someone on the highway the Fronk or front storage area opens up the front hood automatically while driving this car. The car can just sit in the garage the fronk storage area opens up automatically by itself. Walk by the car lights start flashing touch the car lights flash etc. It also appears to be an electrical problem with the car. I noticed in 2020 people complained that who owned new Corvettes they were having similar problems with the front hood opening up while driving down the highway. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. The rear half-shaft assemblies may be missing one or more ball bearings, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the left or right rear half-shaft assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 4, 2022. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212351320.
