“The last 2 days when I drive at night the headlights (low beams) shut off. I switch to the high beams and they work. This has happened in the dark and is dangerous because it happens about 30 or 40 minutes after driving the car. I let the car sit for 4 or 5 hours and then come back and they start working. It is the underhood bussed electrical center (ubec) housing I suspect.”Owner report · Electrical System · Apr 2018
“Dangerous conditions. Exhaust valve design causes ear that eventually breaks exhaust valve and destroys engine. Exhaust valve loose enough to break and cause engine damage, possible fire and/or flammable fluid leakage. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtoa3vlgoes”Owner report · Engine · Mar 2018
“My 10,000 mile 2007 heads are at ahp for rebuilding. They reported back that 1 exhaust and 3 intake guides were worn past the service limit. Several others were close or at the limit.”Owner report · Engine · Jan 2018

“'takata recall' just bought a 2007 z06 corvette and lately I've been seeing a lot of complaints about the valve stems breaking and causing catastrophic engine failture causing the power steering and breaks to fail so now I have to pay 5000.00 + to get it serviced and every 10k miles do the same thing because the valve stem and guides get hot and start to wiggle”Owner report · Engine · Nov 2017
“At 65mph, driving down the highway, the car made a horrendous loud clattering sound and the motor locked up. Pulled to the side of the road to see oil pouring out the side of the engine block, where the valve was spit out - causing a huge hole in the side of the motor”Owner report · Engine · Aug 2017
“My 2007 chevrolet corvette z06 droped a valve while I was driving home. I was on a regular 45mph speed limit road in traffic when I realized the car was losing power and quickly pulled on the side of the road because there were cars in front and behind me. Luckily nobody was hurt but if I had been on a highway in the middle lane someone could have lost their life including me. From the second I realized the car was losing power to the point the engine shut off was a matter of 5 seconds maybe. After doing much research online I found out there is a very common problem with valve guides being out of spec in this model corvette.”Owner report · Engine · May 2017
“There is a leak at the top of my fuel tank. Whenever the tank is 3/4 fill or greater, fuel sloshes out of the top of the tank and pools on top of the tank and sometimes drips down onto the exhaust.. Parking the car overnight in the garage is filling my garage with fuel vapors and I am concerned the dripping fuel may be a fire risk.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Apr 2017
“Vehicle is always stationary when it gets stuck in park, and unable to shift into gear. I let it set for a few minutes then push start again. Sometimes it will shift into gear and other times it will not. 50/50 chance one way or the other. This has happened several times since I inherited this vehicle from my father in early 2017 with 48,000 miles on it. Fast forward to today 03/09/2018 vehicle does not go into park but is "stuck" in neutral, does not go into park or any other gear.”Owner report · Power Train · Feb 2017
“Valve broke and locked up engine. Car skidded off highway and was destroyed. I was driving on interstate and it was raining. No indication of problem before event”Owner report · Engine · Feb 2017
