“The passlock feature on the truck engages frequently without cause making me sit and wait out the 10-minute delay. This is always inconvenient, especially at the gas station with long lines behind me. This problem has the potential for being a safety hazard. The internet has a passlock by-pass procedures but I'm reluctant to modify the vehicle without gm's authorization. The local dealer had the truck for some time and came back with unable to find fault. The issue is so random that unless the truck is in their possession for a week it will not do it. This problem has me very much frustrated.”Owner report · Electrical System · Nov 2017
“I am not able to start the truck most of the time. It goes into a safety mode and I have to wait 10 minutes. Thankfully my family has not been injured yet due to this but I don't think it should come down to injury. Their is lots of complaints about gm's passlock system and it is very dangerous.”Owner report · Power Train · Sep 2017

“While driving the pass code anti-theft light came on. Parked at destination and three hours later returned to vehicle. Opened the vehicle with a key rather than the fob, vehicle would not start. The panel also indicated low fuel, but the tank was full. Waited two hours, hoping that it would reset. Vehicle still would not start.”Owner report · Electrical System · Sep 2017
“I discovered I had no brake lights when driving. I had this fixed at the dealer and it was the stop lamp switch malfunctioning. It turns out there is a recall on this part for 2004-2009 colorado's but not my 2010. Somebody could of been killed!”Owner report · Exterior Lighting · Jul 2016
“When I am driving the truck it will just stop running no slowing down or nothing just stops. I have put the code reader on it and it will come up with nothing.”Owner report · Engine · Jun 2016

“Airbag warning light stays on when engine is running. Google searched and found dozens of repeated explanations of the cause on vehicle & model years on each side of mine. The wiring from the body to the small rear extended cab door is too short and breaks as the door is used. One of the wires is in the airbag circuit and the indicator illuminates when the wire breaks. Upon looking under the rubber wire protection boot between the body & the door, it clearly revealed insufficient wire length to accommodate the door actuation. Clearly a design error and should be corrected by the manufacturer. No campaign on it per the dealer service advisor.”Owner report · Air Bags · Dec 2015
“Tl* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet colorado. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start at random times. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure, but the vehicle was repaired with unknown parts. When the contact retrieved the vehicle, it was unable to start and was left at the dealer for six weeks. The issue recurred a second time and the dealer diagnosed that the battery had low voltage and needed replacement. The battery was replaced. The issue recurred a third time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 47,000.”Owner report · Engine · Aug 2015
