The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH, the brake pedal became firm while depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact used excessive force while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact associated the brake failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V576000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.Owner report · Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Apr 2026
Vehicle does a vibration at high way speeds of 40 to 80 mph. Found several threads online stating the same issue. Found a technical service bulletin regarding this issue (18-NA-355). My vehicle needs a new transmission stated by the service shop.Owner report · Power Train · Apr 2026
Thermostat is not lasting to recommend mileage. Gm states that this part start going bad at 100,000 miles. My vehicle had 40,000 miles when my thermostat went out. I looked online and this been an ongoing problem. For Chevy Camaro owners.Owner report · Engine · Mar 2026

Chevrolet has a well documented issue with the automatic transmission on my car. This is the same model transmission in other cars as well. First issue: the stock transmission fluid was incorrect. This required repairs. The underlying issue is the torque converters and solenoid. Most recently, one solenoid got stuck and forced my car into Limp mode while driving. This caused the vehicle to force 4th gear and incapacitated my ability to control my speed correctly. I was forced to pull off to the side until the computer reset itself again. A less experienced driver could potentially get into a car accident without the ability to properly regulate speedOwner report · Power Train · Feb 2026
Intermittent loss of power steering with no warning other than message on dash saying loss of power steering then shut the car off and restart it and powering steering back for a little while and then it repeatsOwner report · Steering · Feb 2026
The steering system stopped working suddenly. Sounds exactly like the recall but my VIN is not included in the recall. I had to replace the steering system at the local deal shop and I paid 100% of the cost. It only has 12,000 miles.Owner report · Steering · Dec 2025
Airbag service light came on, which required us to bring to the dealership. Quote to access and replace airbag module came to roughly $1350.Owner report · Air Bags · Oct 2025
The vehicle randomly started giving me a service power steering system message. Just got into my vehicle and now the power steering system will not work.Owner report · Steering · Jul 2025
Steering assist failure and is not included in the 2018 recall of other General Motors vehicles. The failure is as described in the cars under the recall. GM has no desire to cover this component failure. This is a serious safety issue as it still can be steered but with great effort and could result in a serious wreck. The car has 12,000 miles and garage kept. There are no check engine lights. The battery is good with a full charge. The engine temp is good. The car is currently at the GM dealership and I am being told that it will be my responsibility to pay for it.Owner report · Steering · Jul 2025
I was driving and my steering all of a sudden got hard to do, my steering wheel was shaking, the steering was difficult to steer and it said on my dash, "electronic steering assist" I was going 60 mph and had to get my car off the road, as I slowed the car got harder to steer, I almost hit another car and ditched it. This is not the first time it's happened on my Camaro, it's happened at least a dozen times in the last 18 months. This is dangerous and I need this corrected! I don't trust it and I am going to hurt myself or someone if you don't fix this. There was a recall before but it did not correct this problem!Owner report · Steering · Jun 2025
