“The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving 37 MPH and approaching a curve in the road, the "Service Power Steering" warning light illuminated, and the steering wheel seized. The contact used an excessive amount of force to steer the vehicle and drove to a nearby parking lot. After the vehicle was parked for approximately 6 hours, the contact restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle regained power steering functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who refused to service the vehicle due to its age of the vehicle. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. “The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle and starting the engine, the heat would enter through the vents and failed to remain off. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed that the blend door was faulty causing the cabin of the vehicle to remain hot when the vehicle was driven. “The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the clutch pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. Additionally, the gear shifter had seized. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and it was diagnosed that the brake line was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V702000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. “Apparently it is a known issue with repair shops. The 5th bow of the convertible top is a faulty part that when bent causes leaks within the vehicle. These leaks bcome massive and could cause mold within the rear floor panel. I've replace the part in 2018 and now 2024. “3rd brake light randomly goes dim online thousands of people have the same issue, it needs to be a recall. Light diodes are getting bad and the other half are cracking from the heat of the window. “The contact owned a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph and making a right turn the accelerator pedal erroneously extended down causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a utility pole. During the crash, the contact sustained a fractured right ankle and concussion and was transported to the local hospital. A police report was taken at the scene. The vehicle was destroyed and towed away. The contact stated that during the incident the accelerator pedal automatically depressed but the cruise control was not activated. “The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the radio console suddenly became inoperable. The contact stated that when the failure occurred, the front windshield defroster and turn signals also became inoperable. After restarting the vehicle, the failures were corrected but later reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the instrument cluster was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. “I was driving and the car lost complete power and a message appeared that indicated Service Power Steering. This has happened twice once at approximately 45 to 50 miles per hour and the second time turning at about 10 miles per hour. Recalls - 4 campaigns
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain replacement flip-key ignition transmitter assemblies sold as replacement equipment for 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles. GM dealers may have inadvertently sold these assemblies as replacement keys despite them having been recalled under NHTSA recall number 14V-346 (GM number 14294) when they were the original equipment assemblies. The driver may accidentally bump the ignition key with their knee, moving the ignition out of the run position and turning off the engine.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, replace the key with the flat blade design, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed November 6, 2019. Owners received a second notice and the recall began February 4, 2020. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N192223230.
General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Coupes manufactured June 9, 2013, through September 6, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the required air bag warning label on the sun visor may peel off. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208 "Occupant Crash Protection."
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and instruct owners how to inspect the visor sticker. As necessary, dealers will replace the sun visor, free of charge. The recall began on October 28, 2013. Owners may contact GM at 1-800-521-7300. GM's recall campaign number is 13284.
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling all 2010-2014 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles manufactured December 3, 2008 to May 23, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the driver may accidentally hit the ignition key with their knee, unintentionally knocking the key out of the run position, turning off the engine.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will remove the key blade from the original flip key/RKE transmitter assemblies, and provide two new keys and two key rings per key. The recall began August 25, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14294. Note: Until the recall has been performed, it is very important that drivers adjust their seat and steering column to allow clearance between their knee and the ignition key.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2013 Buick Verano, Chevrolet Camero, Sonic, and Volt vehicles. The driver-side air bag inflator may explode during deployment due to a manufacturing defect.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver-side air bag module, free of charge. On some 2013 Volt vehicles, the steering wheel will be replaced as well, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 23, 2023. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 and Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N232413120.
