“This is not my personal vehicle, I work for an insurance company handling a claim in which two of our insured's employees were injured after losing control of their vehicle when the tread separated from the tire. A police report confirms this is how the incident occurred. I am reporting this as I am aware of these incidences ocurring with the steeltex, yet it is not part of the recall. “Radiator, which was made out of plastic for a heavy duty vehicle, malfunctioned every 3 years. Has been replaced twice. Please provide further information and VIN#. *ak”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Jul 1996
“I started having problems shortly after buying this vehicle and it has been in the shop every 6 to 8 months ever since. To this date I have had 15 heater cores, 2 radiators, all hoses, 1 motor, and 2 sets of glow plugs replaced. Each time a component fails I get the truck back with the dealership telling me that they "fixed" the problem now and I won't be coming back. Since it takes 6 to 8 months for the problem to recur I am now stuck with a lemon vehicle that continues to have the same problem from day one and is now out of waranty.”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Oct 1994
