“Tl* the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet c1500 equipped with sigma tempest (n/a) p235/75/r15 tires, dot number uthltwb0907. The contact stated that the tread on the front driver side tire separated from the belt of the tire. The contact notified the manufacturer of the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 06t027000 (tires: tread/belt), and was informed that the tires were not made within the time frame of the recall. The contact expressed concern because the manufacturer also stated that they did not actually manufacture the tires, and were not responsible for the failure. “The windshield wipers on my 95 c1500 works randomly at best. The pump for the fluid also only works some of the time. Some times I'll turn of the wipers and it will take up to a minute for them to start working,other times they work fine and then still other times they don't work at all. “Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet c1500. The contact stated that the windshield wipers worked intermittently. The wipers would stop while in motion and occasionally failed to engage when prompted. The dealer has not inspected the vehicle. The dealer stated that his VIN was not included in recall number 98v150001 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer). The current mileage is 101,200 and failure mileage was 99,500. “Dt: the caller received recall on one of his vehicles, but not the other. He said they both had the same problem with the windshield wipers not always working. They worked intermittently. The part in recall was the wiper motor. Manufacturer said the vehicle in question was not in recall. “According with NHTSA database, my truck had a recall on the windshield wiper assembly (98v150001). I called the local dealer, lakeside chevy, spoke with gary at the service department, found out my truck has not been through the recall and he failed to acknowledge this recall, saying that I had to pay $95.00 approx., to get it fixed. CERTAIN HONEYWELL FRAM RACING BRAND HP4 AND HP8 OIL FILTERS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 25, 2006, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 14, 2007, AND SOLD FOR USE AS REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR VEHICLES LIST ABOVE. THE AFFECTED FILTERS ARE MARKED WITH A DATE CODE A61451 THROUGH A72571 SEQUENTIALLY. THE DATE CODE AND PART NUMBER APPEAR ON THE FILTER HOUSING. FRAM RACING HP4 AND HP8 OIL FILTERS NOT BEARING A DATE CODE IN THIS RANGE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL. THE GASKET OF THE OIL FILTER BECOMES MORE PLIABLE UNDER HIGH TEMPERATURES AND PRESSURES.
Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-890-2075.
CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTERS, FRAM BRAND NAME P/N G3727, WITH DATE CODES X52911 THROUGH X60801 SEQUENTIALLY OR X600141 AND A MEXICO COUNTRY OR ORIGIN MARKING ON THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 18, 2005, THROUGH MARCH 21, 2006, SOLD FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE AND ON CERTAIN SCHOOL BUSES. (TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).
