1993 chevrolet silverado; aftermarket equipment, dot# unavailable, and firestone firehawk ss10 tire size p235/70r15. Experienced a left rear tire blowout/ tread separation at highway speed of 60 mph. No injuries reported. *ak *slcOwner report · Tires · Jul 2000
When braking, the ABS system did not engage. It felt as if there were no, if any brakes. After pressing persistently, the vehicle eventually stopped. If the distance to brake had not been sufficient, it is easily conceivable that an accident would have occurred. The same scenario happened within 7 days of the first occurence. Again sufficient distance for the brakes to grab avoided an accident.Owner report · Service Brakes, Air · Jun 1999
