The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the a-arm connecting the steering to the tires underneath the vehicle collapsed. The contact pulled over, waited for a few minutes, and then slowly drove the vehicle back to the residence. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact reached out to lbsi automotive llc (109 pittsburgh rd, uniontown, pa 15401, (724) 437-5274) but got no response. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. “Coming home from work on highway.. Going up small incline speed started to drop. Then shut off. Smoke from under hood would not start. Made a clicking noise. Computer read several codes relating to knock sensor. Was replaced (2nd time) and codes cleared. Still not starting. No codes showing. Starter also replaced. Other relay sensors checked. The dealer (edmond chevrolet buick gmc, 824 e main st, bradford, pa 16701, (814) 331-4476) was unable to provide the correct solution after inspecting and diagnosing the vehicle. The dealer replaced the ball joints, which did not prevent the failure. The vehicle was taken for an inspection and an independent mechanic diagnosed that there was a loose bolt that needed to be removed and replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. “Car became unresponsive to the gas pedal at 45 mph. A loud clicking noise could be heard underneath about mid body. It doesnt want to accelerate for passing etc. Could smell fuel and the car was smoking lightly when I got it home. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Chevrolet Aveo and 2009 Pontiac G3 vehicles. The vehicles may contain brake fluid which does not protect against corrosion of the valves inside the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module, affecting the closing motion of the valves.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module, free of charge, in any vehicle that did not have its module replaced under a previous customer satisfaction campaign. The recall began in late September 2014. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-762-2737 (Pontiac). GM's number for this recall is 14505.
