I immediately checked the brake fluid level and it was full. “ABS system activated on dry pavement while parking the car. Brake peddle went to the floor car kept moving it seem to want to accelerate. It hit the opposing parked vehicle. This has been a intermittent problem. “Tl* the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet astro. The contact stated the horn activated independently while parked or when making turns. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the failure was due to the horn and the airbag interacting. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. “2000 chevy astro van ABS problem. While traveling at low speed cities, parking lots etc... When attempting to stop the ABS appears to kick on causing failure to stop. I have had several near accidents with my children in the van recently. Mechanics say maybe master cylinder, maybe belts, maybe???? “While traveling at highway speeds the accelerator pedal became stuck. Vehicle continued to accelerate in a run-away mode. Vehicle was eventually stopped through combination of brakes and traveling into mud. “Tl*the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet astro. The contact was unable to pull the front passenger seat belt out of the retractor. The dealer and wanted $250 to repair it. The contact stated that since this was a safety issue it should be repaired at no cost. The failure mileage was 72,000. The current mileage was 80,000. “Tl* the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet astro. The contact stated when braking on any uneven road surface, the anti-lock brake system would activate independently with the illumination of the ABS warning light making it difficult to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was involved in three separate crashes as a result of the failure. On one occasion while traveling 45 mph, the brakes were applied abruptly but did not respond and the contact crashed into another vehicle. There was one reported injury and a police report was filed. CERTAIN REPLACEMENT FUEL FILTERS, FRAM BRAND NAME P/N G3727, WITH DATE CODES X52911 THROUGH X60801 SEQUENTIALLY OR X600141 AND A MEXICO COUNTRY OR ORIGIN MARKING ON THE FUEL FILTER HOUSING MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 18, 2005, THROUGH MARCH 21, 2006, SOLD FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE AND ON CERTAIN SCHOOL BUSES. (TO SEE THE SCHOOL BUS ENGINE SIZES, CLICK ON "DOCUMENT SEARCH" AND THEN "BUS APPLICATIONS"). THE CONNECTOR ON THE FUEL FILTER WAS NOT MANUFACTURED TO HONEYWELL'S SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE O-RING MAY NOT SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE FUEL LINE.
Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).
CERTAIN PRO-A MOTORS CORNER LAMPS, TURN SIGNALS, AND HEADLIGHTS SOLD AS REPLACEMENT LAMPS FOR USE ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. SOME COMBINATION LAMPS THAT ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.
Remedy: PRO-A MOTORS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE THE LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 3, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT PRO-A MOTORS AT 323-838-2988.
