The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, there was a sudden loss on engine power as the electronic throttle control warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. “Tl*the contact owns a 2001 cadillac seville. The contact stated that the driver and passenger side seat belts do not release; therefore, they were unable to be used. He feels that this is a manufacturer's defect. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were able to release the belts. They further stated that nothing was wrong with the retractor. “Tl*the contact owns a 2001 cadillac seville. The contact stated that the vehicle leaked engine oil on the exhaust crossover pipe extensively from the crank cradle to the block. The vehicle was diagnosed by a mechanic and the dealer. The contact stated that there was a remedy, which was to pull the motor and replace it with a remam motor. The vehicle has not been repaired. The purchase date was unknown. The current mileage was 131,000 and failure mileage was approximately 109,000. “The power steering becomes inoperable at low speeds, causing significant risks in proper maneuvering. The safety of pedestrians is of particular concern, as one incident recently demonstrated, when I could not turn the wheel fast enough. “Dt: the caller said a nut came off the front lower ball joint. The caller's wife was backing out of a driveway and she heard a clung and when she looked the wheel was tilted out on the bottom. Vehicle was towed to dealer who fixed it. Manufacturer canceled the $50.00 deductible. *ak ses light illuminated on the dash. “Transmission failure on 2001 cadillac sls: there was no warning that the transmission needed servicing or was experiencing any problems. The transaxle fluid level indicated it was at 100% at time of incident. Vehicle was at stop light, light turned green and the vehicle would not move made loud roaring noise. Diagnosis at cadillac dealer transmission failure at 68,000 miles. Vehicle is now at cadillac dealer for costly repair. Called gm regarding issue; indicated there is no recall so nothing can be done. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN INCORRECT TIRE PRESSURE LABEL. ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH P235/55R17 TIRES, THE TIRE PRESSURE LABEL INCORRECTLY SPECIFIES P235/60ZR16 TIRES.
Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH CORRECT LABELS.
