“Stopped at the West Bound Thruway Seneca service area. After returning to the vehicle, multiple error messages were displayed on screen. "Have Power Steering Serviced, Service Stabilitrak, Service Headlamps, AWD Tempoarily Unavailable" Steering was the main issue. It was almost impossible to turn and steer. It was fortunate that it was after a stop and not while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but it has yet to be determined why the steering failed.”Owner report · Steering,Power Train,Electrical System · Jun 2026
“Car has been asleep after parking and will not wake up leaving all electrical components dead. GM has not been able to repair and unfortunately this has occurred 5 times including twice the month of March, 2026. Having a car parked in an unsafe location and not being able to move it very unsettling. After 30-60 minutes the car will start back up and operate normally.”Owner report · Electrical System · Mar 2026
“The contact owns a 2025 Cadillac Lyriq. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, there was a cracking sound inside the vehicle. The contact looked up and saw that the moon roof glass was cracking. The contact stated that the crack had extended several feet. There was no impact on the moon roof glass to cause the glass to crack. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. “I was in a public parking lot and slowly approached a parking space in front of a store. When I applied the brakes to stop in the space, the car did not respond, it continued to drive forward, up the curb, crashed through the store front, and eventually came to rest mid-way in the store, amidst the furniture and store structure.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Feb 2026
“Telematics module failed and the vehicle couldn’t connect to emergency OnStar services if involved in crash. GPS also doesn’t work with a faulty module. No cellular or WiFi connectivity. Car reroutes to somewhere without this module working. I’m paying for the OnStar subscription but with a faulty module it can’t connect. GM says part back ordered with no ETA. Thousands of people are reporting the same problem and it should be a recall at this point.”Owner report · Electrical System · Nov 2025
“OnStar system on the vehicle is busted. Because of this the accident detection no longer works and the GPS is stuck in no mans land which makes it impossible to use their app to figure out charging percentage, how far and route to take to the nearest charging station.”Owner report · Electrical System · Nov 2025
“Sudden Acceleration. -I was driving on a highway. I accelerated to pass a truck and when I took my foot off the accelerator the car continued to gain acceleration. The gas pedal had returned to a normal position but the car was still accelerating. I had to put full force on the brakes to get the car to stop. One of my passengers noted that there were flames around one of the brakes. I turned the car off and we waited approximately 45 minutes for the brakes to cool enough to proceed without further incident.”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Jul 2025
“I purchased the 2025 Lyriq new on May 11, 2025. On May 30th with 5400 miles on the car, the front right wheel tie rod snapped off while driving causing the wheel to turn sideways. I was making a turn on a secondary sheet when it happened and was able to pull to the side of the road. Had I been driving on the highway at the time, I could have been killed or hurt another driver. I had the car towed to MacMulkin Cadillac on June 1. The dealership noted that it was bad welding and the car showed rust and rot in that area. It will be 30 days this Monday and no one from GM has been out to investigate.”Owner report · Steering,Suspension,Wheels · May 2025
