I was told this car has rear cross traffic warning when I ordered it from our local BMW dealer. After several "close calls" in parking lots, I took it into the dealer because it doesn't work like any of our other vehicles (Mercedes). I was told by the dealer that you have to be actively backing up and the car has to be immediately behind you in a very close proximity to the car before it will even alert you. There doesn't seem any active braking either. When you do a search on this issue with BMW's, it is a very common complaint of BMW owners. I believe this is a major safety issue with the feature that BMW claims.Owner report · Back Over Prevention · May 2026
After starting car, car went into Power Failure mode, warning to immediately stop car, car continued driving, but eventually engaged parking mode and wouldn't go back into drive mode until I turned it off and back on again.Owner report · Forward Collision Avoidance · Dec 2025
Traveling on I70 on 9/3 at 70 mph around 2pm the car stopped abuptly and displayed Emergency Stoppage and made an SOS call to BMW. After a few minutes the car was retarted and we proceeded to our destination. No injuries or damage since there was no one behind us. Dealer told us not to drive the car and it iwas towed to BMW Service.Owner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Sep 2025

Cannot safety drive the car with the major recall on the braking system. I have slid through intersections trying to brake - thankfully no other cars were present at the time. No remedy or solution has been offered and BMW refuses to order the part or allow trade-in on the vehicle.Owner report · Service Brakes · Mar 2025

Car presents the forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning are inoperable. Errors popped up 10-20 times while driving a short distance. These are repeat errors that BMW has not fixed. As i drove the car kept alerting me that the systems were offline. They would come back online and go back offline as i drove. Car has been to dealership around 8-9 times and BMW says there is adamant that nothing is wrong with the car even though this error has been happening since I have had the car at around 1000 miles. Currently at ~13k miles now.Owner report · Lane Departure,Forward Collision Avoidance · Feb 2025
The car is unsafe to drive due to a brake recall safety issue. The dealer instructed me to leave the vehicle and obtain my loaner car, as they do not provide this service despite the car warranty. Additionally, the electronic system turns on by itself, causing the car to turn on and off, making it unsafe to drive.Owner report · Electrical System,Service Brakes · Jan 2025
