“FMVSS 111 is violated when iDrive9 user experience screen elements cover the rear view camera video feed. This occurs when a user HMI interaction occurs while in reverse. The HMI transitions to another window on top of the rear view. The only way to return to rear-view is to exit park assist mode and re-enter, or to put the vehicle in drive/park and then reverse again. “Driving the vehicle and the entire digital display shut off so the digital speedometer display and infotainment system went completely off. Car engine was still running and driving but driving informaiton was completely off. Vehicle felt unsafe. Going slow enought to come to a complete stop. “After driving car a few minutes with the heated seats “on”, the driver’s seat became extremely hot. Driver burned finger upon checking the seat and a hole was burned through the seat upholstery. No warning lamps or messages appeared. We were concerned for further overheating or possible fire. Car has been at A & L Dealership, Monroeville, PA, since November 28, 2025. “When using the headlights there is a shadow across the top half of our windshield. The dealership was not able to fix, they acknowledged they could see what we are referring to. “The headlights have a shadow half way down the windshield making it very difficult to see at night. We don't feel safe driving when it is dark out. We took it to the dealer the end of January they saw what we were talking about. One of the foreman drove it home at night. He saw what we were talking about but gave no solutions. We took it in again the shop foreman adjusted the headlights up. We drove it at night. The adjustment did not help. I have been in contact with BMW of North America. “OE Windshield failed with a crack from no strike or extremely small pebbles. Have had to replace windshield 2x in 3 months of ownership. Others with the same FUYAO glass have had to replace multiple times as well. “Brand new 2025 BMW X3 loud suspension noise coming front the font below 20 miles per hour. The car has ~5,000 miles. It happens every time and is pretty consistent. “Rear view camera can be obstructed entirely by other full screen elements when interacting with hard of soft buttons. This 100% reproducible effect results in the need to occasionally shift back into park and then reverse to restart the rvc process and have the video appear on top of other on screen content. BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 X3 xDrive30i and X3 M50i vehicles. The front passenger air bag fabric may have been damaged during transport between suppliers.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the front passenger air bag, free of charge. None of the affected vehicles have been sold yet and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 X3 30 xDrive vehicles. The gas generator in the right-side head curtain air bag may have been assembled incorrectly.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the right-side head curtain air bag, if necessary, free of charge. The vehicles have not been sold from dealer inventory and therefore no owner letters will be mailed. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 X3 30 xDrive and X3 M50 xDrive vehicles. The rear brake hoses may leak, causing a loss of rear brake function, and a loss of the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system.

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 X3 30 xDrive vehicles. The connection between the positive battery cable and the starter-generator may have been improperly tightened and overheat.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the connection between the positive battery cable and the starter-generator, or replace the positive battery cable and starter-generator if necessary, free of charge. Remedy: Dealers will inspect the steering connection and replace hardware or replace the spindle and column, as necessary, free of charge. BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 330i, 330i xDrive, 530i, 530i xDrive, 4 Series Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Convertible (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Gran Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive) and X3 30 xDrive vehicles. The electrical connection between the starter-generator and battery may come loose.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the starter-generator and positive battery cable as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed May 28, 2025. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available.
