Tl* the contact owns a 2010 bmw k1300 gt. While riding approximately 30 mph, the odor of fuel was present. The contact discovered fuel had leaked from the fuel pump where the boss threaded into the flange. The contact indicated that the motorcycle was previously serviced per the manufacturer's campaign number: 038538 for the same failure in 2014. During the repairs, a reinforcement ring was installed to prevent the same failure from occurring. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 28,815.Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · Jun 2018
When accelerating around 4500 to 5500 rpm, the engine bogs and the motorcycle loses speed. Other times, and at cruising speeds, when turning the throttle to accelerate at lower speeds, the bike does not accelerate immediately and takes a couple of seconds before it accelerates. When pulling in the clutch to change gears, the engine stalls. This can happen in the middle of a turn or driving down a straight road. This happens randomly. *trOwner report · Engine · Jan 2017
Center stand bent while trying to stand up my bike on it. I rarely used it, never abused it. Poor engineering suggested by an authorized motorcycle mechanic! *trOwner report · Structure · Mar 2014

No response from the left and right turn signals, horn, electrical windshield, cruise control. An internationally known issue on this bmw bike. Surprised there is no recall issued yet! Bmw dealer charges over $600.00 to replace the left hand multi switch part # 61318546213. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Feb 2014
The switches on the right handlebar, for the emergency engine off/engine-start functions failed! As a result engine dangerously stalled while in motion(almost crashed my bike), luckily I was traveling at only 30mph. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Feb 2014
Center stand bent while trying to stand up my bike on it. I rarely used it, never abused it. Poor engineering suggested by an authorized motorcycle mechanic. *trOwner report · Structure · Dec 2013
Engine has stalled numerous times since new. Third time in for this problem in a year. This condition creates a serious safety hazard. If it worsens, it will substantially impair the use or value of my motorcycle. Occurs with clutch in or out, in gear & in neutral. Happens at idle & at various speeds up to 50 mph. Happens as soon as after five minutes of riding or after an hour of riding. Happens with one or two riders. *trOwner report · Electrical System · Apr 2011
