What is being recalled
BOTH THE SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT (SIR) CAUTION LABEL AND AN ENGINE START LABEL WERE INSTALLED ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SUN VISOR. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION."
Why it is dangerous
CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: OPERATORS COULD FAIL TO NOTICE AND HEED THE WARNING LABELS.
The fix (free at any franchised dealer)
A NEW LABEL, WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO OWNERS. OWNERS WILL INSTALL THE LABEL OR CAN HAVE THEIR DEALER INSTALL THE LABEL FOR THEM.
Recall repairs are always free, regardless of vehicle age or where you bought the car. Quote the campaign number 94V-227 when calling a dealer.
