What is going on and how it gets diagnosed
P0841 says the transmission fluid pressure sensor or switch A reported something implausible - pressure where none should be, none where some should be, or a value that disagrees with the commanded state. On many popular automatics this is a small screw-in switch on a specific clutch circuit, and the switch itself is the most common culprit.
Honda automatics made this family of codes famous: their third-clutch and second-clutch pressure switches fail often enough to be a stocked part, the fix is modest, and the symptom is frequently nothing but the light. The honest caveat: the switch is an informant, and occasionally it is telling the truth about real pressure loss in that clutch circuit. A switch replaced twice for the same returning code has delivered its message - at that point the clutch pack behind it deserves the attention.
