P0345: Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Bank 2
A generic powertrain (engine and transmission) trouble code, same meaning on every brand.
Same as P0341 - drive moderately, diagnose soon.
Symptoms
- Hard start, intermittent stumble
- Check engine light
Likely causes, most common first
- Bank 2 cam sensor failure
- Connector or wiring
- Chain stretch on that bank
Read P0345 yourself before paying for diagnosis
A basic Bluetooth OBD-II scanner ($20-40) plugs into the port under the dashboard and shows this code with live sensor data on your phone - useful both for confirming the fix and for talking to a shop from an informed position.
What is going on and how it gets diagnosed
P0345 is the bank 2 camshaft position circuit on V engines. The failure and diagnosis mirror the bank 1 versions exactly; bank-specific codes mainly save the technician from guessing which side to open.
Sensor access varies wildly by engine - from two minutes to two hours - which explains the wide labor spread.
Repair options and cost
Typical US independent-shop ranges, parts and labor. Dealers run higher; regional labor rates vary.

“I was driving and randomly lost power. No powersteering, no acceleration, no brakes, all of the lights on the dash turned on like the engine shut off, and the key was turned back to electrical (while in the middle of driving, I'm 100% sure the car turned off without the ignition key switching to off). This has happened about 5 times now. The code p0345 activated shortly after the second time it happened. It has happened when decelerating/braking, accelerating, and coasting, low and high speeds. I know there are other reports of this with muranos on the internet and apparently happens to a few other nissans. This started in early june, when the temperatures are above mid 80's.”2007 Nissan Murano · Jun 2019 · 156,300 mi
