“Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the vehicle will jerk and will slip into 2nd gear causing a vehicle accident. Dealer notified ts”Owner report · Power Train · Oct 2002
“My 2000 suzuki gsxr750 motorcycle slips out of gear when it is second gear. This problem began when the motorcycle had less than 3,000 miles on it. I have not only found other consumers with this identical problem with their 2000 gsxr's personally, I have found many others nationally through research. I have inquired at multiple dealerships as well as suzuki about this problem and their responses were all the same. They cannot help me unless there is a recall. *nlm”Owner report · Power Train · Sep 2002
“When shaft is bend oil will leak, and oil could be seen on side of tire. Then, consumer did talk to manufacturer, and they could not help the situation. This happened without consumer knowing what could cause a major accident.*ak”Owner report · Suspension · Aug 2001

“Frame bracket that clamps around the engine mount is missing the pinch bolt that holds the right side secured. Suzuki knows the bolt comes out, but will not do anything about the problem. The steel bolt goes vertical into the aluminum frame from the ground. The 1 year warranty just expired & suzuki doesn't back up there product when they know about there problems. The radiator cap was defective & suzuki wouldn't vouge for it. The rear tire spun out on me, that's how I found out about this problem. Coolant on the rear tire!”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Jul 2001
“Jumps out of 2nd gear under various throttle positions. Could cause loss of control of motorcyle especialy if in a turn.*ak”Owner report · Power Train · Jun 2001
“Suzuki stated that they have no record of the parts being defective. I have found lots of other peaple who have had the same problems with their bikes on the internet. Allmost every one who I meet with a 2000 or newer model gsxr 750 or gsxr 1000 has had some trouble with the transmission.*ak”Owner report · Power Train · Jun 2001
“2nd gear would slip. Engine feels like is dying out when this happens. Have taken to bike shop, and was informed that it was a transmission problem. Took to mc shop and dealer was not honoring warranty for repairs. Charging to check engine & transmission for slippage. *ak *slc”Owner report · Power Train · May 2001
“2nd gear has gone out on my 2000 suzuki gsx-r750 motorcycle @ 5000 miles. I currently have just over 9k miles on it now. At least 45 % of the 2000 models have this problem and suzuki customer care denighs that there is a problem. Suzuki even changed the parts for the 2nd gear for the 2001 models and there has been no problem with those. Suzuki will not do a recall. This will cost me $1200 to get fixed at a dealership and I along with many others cannot afford this. This could very likely cause a person to wreak if the gear were to go out while turning cause the gear will skip and then grab causing the rear wheel to spin. Please adress this with suzuki america. Thank you.*ak”Owner report · Power Train · May 2001
“The transmission is coming out of gear and skipping at any speed. Please look into this problem as there have been many complaints. Motorcycle is dangerous to ride. *ak”Owner report · Power Train · Nov 2000
“At random intervals, the transmission will slip out of, then back into gear. This has happened on 1/2, 3/4 and 4/5 on my bike. 1/2 high rpm (12-14k) shifts are nearly impossible without it slipping back out of 2nd. The 2nd gear problem is the most severe, and my dealer will not service this under warranty. If it slips out of 2nd while I'm in a corner, it could cause loss of control.”Owner report · Power Train · Sep 2000
