“I started the car, backed up and suddenly I had no power steering. No warnings just unable to budge the steering wheel. Car is still sitting at a restaurant . If this happened to anyone while driving there is no way they could control this car! There is a recall on this issue with 2011 milan but not 2010 but there have been numerous complaints of this issue. Someone is going to get hurt or worse if ford doesn't fix this. The 1700 plus repair is impossible for most of us!!!”Owner report · Steering · Apr 2019
“Service steering now light came on while driving, then the steering wheel locked. Had to have car towed to repair shop. It cost me $1780 to repair. Recall on the 2011 but not the 2010, sad situation.”Owner report · Steering · Oct 2018
“My steering assist stopped working when I was parking my vehicle. I'm fortunate that no cars were next to where I was parking because the car went into the next parking spot without my control. I see that 2011 mercury milan have been recalled for this reason. I was in motion when this happened.”Owner report · Steering · Sep 2018
“I was driving and drove onto some uneven pavement. I hit a bump at 40 mph. I was coming off of an interstate onto an exit ramp and had to stop at a stop light. The pedal went to the floorboard. I had to pump it up to stop. It is still a soft pedal.”Owner report · Service Brakes · Sep 2018
“Power steering failed while driving in neighborhood at 30 mph. The power steering gear assembly and tie rods were replaced 3 months/3,000 ago for the same exact failure. There needs to be a recall for the milan 2010 for this issue just like there is a recall for the milan 2011 and fusion 2011/2012. See initial complaint # 11081366.”Owner report · Steering · Jun 2018
