“Car was inspected at mechanic during a routine oil change. Mechanic stated that the frame was rusted, which could affect the ability to safely operate the vehicle. I did a search and discovered that similar damage was noted in a recall 09-01-020 dated July 2009. Unfortunately, my vehicle was not included in the recall due to the manufacture date, but the same problem as the ones included in the recall exists.”Owner report · Suspension · Dec 2021

“There is visible rust/corrosion damage of the front sub- frame of my vehicle. The front subframe has thinned at rusted location. The rusted sub-frame is chewed half of my sub-frame. I am worried that corrosion may progress and may detach from the sub-frame, eventually increasing safety risk. I have noticed steering pull.”Owner report · Structure · Sep 2019
“I was driving the car downhill, approaching a stop sign. My subframe on the passenger side of the car snapped. The front passenger subframe was rusted, and broke. This caused the wheel to come in contact with the wheel well, and made it very hard to stop. I was left in the middle of a busy intersection, with near inability to move the car after I finally came to a stop by having to use my emergency brake. Attached is a picture of the subframe the day of the incident, before it broke. I do not have one of it broken.”Owner report · Suspension · May 2019
