Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge srt-4. While driving approximately 35-40 mph, the vehicle was shifted from second to third gear. The gear seized and fractured. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the shift selector fractured and the third gear fork was fractured. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.Owner report · Power Train · Aug 2009
The van can be driven with the doors left open, no warnings given that doors are open. This allows people or packages to fall out of the side or rear doors without the driver knowing packages/people have fallen out of the van. If the side door is open and one makes a left turn, packages/cargo could slide out the side door and strike someone standing on a sidewalk. *trOwner report · Structure · Oct 2007
Bought car new and I am having the gears get stuck and it uses or leaks about a quart of oil between oil changes and car only has 29,500 miles and the dealership refuses to make it right they say this is normal if so it should have been put on the sticker of the car.I would not have bought it it requires full synthetic oil which runs about 5.50 a quart. I am close to warranty to run out and need some help asap!!!!Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · May 2007

I have been "locked-out" of gear in my 2005 srt-4 multiple times. Even with the clutch pedal is fully and properly pressed, the transmission refuses to shift and engage a gear. This has happened to me in first, second, and third gear. When it occurs, I am stuck in neutral, unable to accelerate. This has happened in traffic many times. Just today I was unable to engage third gear while going down an on-ramp, so I was stuck coasting down into rapidly moving traffic. Though I was eventually able to get into gear, it was quite harrowing. Dodge needs to perform a recall on this transmission before it does cause someone to become seriously injured in an accident. *nmOwner report · Power Train · Oct 2006
2005 dodge sprinter 2500 van with front and rear air conditioner. When air conditioners are running, the engine will inadvertently stop running. While driving the van at highway speeds of 70 mph with air conditioners on, the engine dies. We pull the car over, turn off all the air conditioners, put the car back to park and restart the van. Engine failure happens randomly. We need air conditioner on because of heatwave here in california where temperatures are 112 degrees! *nmOwner report · Equipment · Jul 2006
I own a 2005 dodge neon srt4. Its well known that 3rd gear shift selector bends over time and makes 3rd gear grind or pop out. I have experienced this problem since I have 25k on my car and its now at 49k. I've taken it to a few local dealer ships but none resolved the problem. *trOwner report · Power Train · Jun 2006
When using cruise control on my 2005 dodge caravan the cruise control sometimes will not disengage by touching the brake when under full acceleration going up a hill. This is extremely dangerous, especially when a car in front hits its brake. It requires full force pressure on the brake to disengage the cruise control. *nmOwner report · Vehicle Speed Control · Mar 2006
2005 suv dodge durango w hemi engine stalled making a turn at low speed. Engine died and all systems shutdown. Loss of power steering made it a scary 10 seconds. Vehicle put in park and re-started again. Based on prior complaints this is not the first time. Dodge needs to investigate and produce a recall before a fatality occurs. *jbOwner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Feb 2006
Front suspension problem-when at highway speeds sometimes hit a bump and the front tire bounces out of control until I slow to 20 mph-dodge dealer replace tie rods and center link but the problem continues. *nmOwner report · Suspension · Feb 2006
My 2005 dodge srt-4 with 6800 miles was stored all winter and I took it out because my other vehicle broke down. I pulled out of my driveway and shifted from first to second and then I shifted to third it felt like my clutch was slipping so I lift off the gas and I heard a big boom. Well come to find out the flywheel exploded. They pulled the transmission and found the block of the motor was cracked so right now it is in the shop getting fixed so far the estimated price is around $5000.*jbOwner report · Power Train · Feb 2006
