“Tl* the contact owns a 2009 bmw k1300s motorcycle. The contact stated that the left turn signal failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number 09v384000 (electrical system) but the failure recurred three years later. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage and VIN was unavailable. *tr”Owner report · Electrical System · Dec 2013
“The bike stalls when you slow down and go to shift into a lower gear. It has done it numerous times and is very dangerous on a motorcycle. This bike was re-sold by bmw after they supposedly fixed the exact same issue. Bmw's fix didn't work, the bike is still stalling. The bike has now been at the dealer for over a month and they can't seem to figure out what the problem is. They just keep replacing random parts to try and correct it. This is a seriously dangerous issue that bmw needs to address correctly or someone is going to get killed. My guess is the mapping unit for the bike isn't mapped correctly and they need to design one that is or can be adjusted properly. *tr”Owner report · Fuel/Propulsion System · May 2012
“Had stalling recall performed in approximately january 2011. Software update has failed to correct the stalling condition. The engine still stalls under a variety of conditions, but especially in stop and go riding. Previous recall has failed to correct the stalling problem. *tr”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Dec 2010

“New bmw k 1300s 2009. Engine stalling since july 2009 has become worse. I've had a couple near misses on the highway. The very features I got the motorcycle for ( the engine, brakes, handlebar switches) all have been recalled. I have lost all confidence with the bmw and the k 1300s, and I question after all the recalls I mentioned how many more will surface. I have experience the stalling over 70 times. Bmw of manhattan has assured me multiple times that the stalling would be corrected with some software, but that has not been the case. Bmw of manhattan has been working on the motorcycle this time around for over 28 days and counting with no answers. *tr”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Mar 2010
“The motorcycle was being driven on I-95 in florida around 2pm. There was a good deal of traffic and all lanes were occupied. As I went to slow down I applied the front brake, but there was no pressure and absolutely no action on the brake. There had been a previous recall on the front brakes which had been serviced/there was no problem after the initial recall fix until this event. The bmw service reports that it was complete hydraulic failure... They are working on the problem to ascertain the cause. *tr”Owner report · Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Mar 2010
“2009 bmw k 1300 s motorcycle stalls when disengaging the clutch to downshift. Happens every outing. Dealer claims it is a known problem with no "fix" as of yet. *tr”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Oct 2009
“Motorcycle stalls in traffic when clutch is pulled in. This has been happening over the last 500 miles. The motorcycle now has around 3,400 miles. This has been reported to the bmw, but at this time they do not have a fix. *tr”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Oct 2009
“I have a brand new bmw k1300s motorcycle with barely 1000 miles on it that stalls a random intervals and typically when going to idle. This has caused the back tire to lock up/skid and could have easily resulted in a fall. Other riders have been injured and accidents have occurred on these bikes. Bmw knows but can not fix the problem. It is a very widespread problem with this bike. *tr”Owner report · Engine And Engine Cooling · Sep 2009
“Bmw k 1300 s. The bike stalled out 6 times today. One of the stalls caused the bike to shut off at about 40 mph causing a tip to the side. I have complained to my bmw dealer max bmw in nh a number of times, they opened a ticket with bmw corporate and acknowledged the problem, but would not provide a fix for it. *tr”Owner report · Fuel System, Other · Sep 2009
